I was fighting a cold/sore throat all weekend, so I passed on waking up early to hike out of town and instead slept later and headed for SoMo. Beautiful weekend day, which meant lots of crowds. I've never seen so many people swarming around Fat Man's Pass...it looked like a tour bus unloaded before I got there. Also passed a few people smoking while they hiked, which is the hiking equivalent of eating donuts while getting liposuction...

With the exception of a detour through Hidden Valley, I stayed on National and turned around at ~7.5 miles, which took me most of the way to Telegraph Pass. It remained crowded from start to finish, but the weather was perfect, and I felt pretty good despite the sore throat.
