The clouds looked too good to pass up yesterday, so off I went to the Supes. I started out from the Lost Goldmine TH on Peralta Road with no real plan in mind. Once I got past the Super Highway of Wave Cavers on the Carney Springs Trail, I decided to explore the area below the Three Sisters.

I hopped the fence about 1/4 mile past the intersection of LGM and CS trails. I love the way the Three Sisters formation looks so different depending on your view point.

I saw game trails and even a cairn or two, but there is really no definite path in this area. I hiked close to the base and then back up the little hill below. Tons of photos on my camera and phone. With the clouds, the light coming through and the scenery, I was in heaven for sure.

I could hear and see the throngs over at the Wave Cave, but I was a million miles away from that in my mind. Not a soul around and surrounded by such amazing beauty!

I hiked back down to the trail and moved over to the other side. The Sisters look like a completely different formation from this angle. I contemplated going over to Turks Head, but opted instead to hike up to the little saddle directly below the Sisters. Never been up there before. The view of the formation was different again.

I went back down from there towards the trail and started back to the truck.

The weather was perfect. Not hot, not cold. The clouds were phenomenal, so rich and full, letting the sun shine down in between.

A perfect day for me in the Superstitions. I hope the promised rains bring some much needed water to this area too.
