| no partners | | I decided to head up the Beeline Highway today to stretch out my legs on a hike up to Mount Ord.
There were a substantial number of wildflowers on the lower 3.0-3.5 miles of FR 27. There was more globemallow than I have ever seen on a hike -- some hillsides were covered up with it. Other flowers making a particularly good showing were Arizona penstemon, purple nightshade, fleabane, and field bindweed.
I saw a nice sized white tailed deer in the morning on FR 27, about 1.5 miles from the TH. It is nice to see that wildlife is returning to the area that was severely burned by the Bush Fire 3 years ago.
There are still lots of wildflowers along Highway 87, especially north of Bush Highway. |
