| no partners | | I was looking for another hike compatible with social distancing and decided to head up to the Slate Creek TH and hike up to Mount Ord. This was my 5th trip to the TH in 2020; this was my 4th hike up to Mount Ord, and I went to Little Mount Ord once. Next time I think that I will do both Mount Ord and Little Mount Ord.
There was nothing remarkable about this hike -- it was just up and back down on FR 27 and FR 626. I saw no other hikers, so social distancing was not an issue. At the summit I saw a couple of workers tending to one of the towers -- they were the only carbon based life forms that I saw all day.
On the way back to town I went through the super secret tunnel that goes underneath Highway 87 -- it makes it easy to get from the TH to 87 South. |

Wildflowers Observation Light There were a few wildflowers here and there -- western wallflower stood out the most. |
